Mr. William R. Dykes writes in his magnificent monograph, The Genus Iris, that Iris bucharica "...is the strongest grower and one of the most strikingly beautiful of all the Juno iris." It bears 5 to 7 flowers on a stem. Each flower is creamy-white with patches of yellow on the falls. The broad, glossy green foliage resembles corn plants, a characteristic of the Juno group. Although bulbous like our other iris, this iris group also has plump and fleshy roots attached. Use: border cut.
