This charming wildflower is found in moist woodlands and along forest edges from Maine to Manitoba and southward as far as Oklahoma and South Carolina. Easy to cultivate, they make nice garden subjects for lightly shaded areas. Their rather hairy, lobed and toothed medium green leaves are slightly spotted; thus, the common name "Spotted Cranesbill". In spring its quarter- size, 5-petaled, lilac to pink and occasionally white flowers appear over several weeks. Plants go semidormant after seed is shed. Cultivated Stock.
